Single Pixel Fixer Psp
Right, I got a replacement PSP today, after sending back my first one since it had bright lines at the top of the screen. This one still has some faint bright lines at the top but they're not as distracting, so I've come to the conclusion that they're probably present on all PSPs (at least the 3,000s) to differering degrees, but they're not always that noticeable. I'm a bit obsessive about things like that so they probably bother me more than most.
However, this one has one pixel that is constantly blue. It's only one pixel but it's a bit distracting, as now my eye is constantly drawn to it. I don't really want to send it back yet again, for fear that Amazon will get suspicious/the next one will be worse. The manual says that a certain amount of 'constantly lit' pixels are normal for LCD screens. Is this a 'constantly lit' pixel? I've read it's what's called a 'stuck' pixel if it's constantly blue, is that the same thing?
I've done a bit of googling and found mention of a 'pixel fixer' that apparently works 60% of the time. Most links seemed to be dead but I've just found another one. Xperia X10 Flash Tool. I've only just got the PSP so have no idea how to run it. Has anyone else had a similar issue?
Is it possible that it will clear up of its own accord? Thanks in advance! That's annoying!
Has anyone else gotten a new PSP 2000 with a stuck pixel? Mine has one and it drives me crazy! I am running the pixel fixer now. It seems to work on red, but is dark. Hardware Heaven Forums. PSP Stuck Pixel Fixer!!!! And was ported over for use on the PSP. Also, if the dead pixels haven't switched on within 24hours there.
Maybe Amazon has a slightly iffy batch of PSP whites. If so, the next one could be just as bad I might not have described the issue (the bright lines) well - it's like a strip across the top of the screen (about 3/4 mm thick), which is ever so slightly 'whiter' than the rest of the screen, and is only really noticeable on grey backgrounds. It also 'flickers' ever so slightly (and I mean ever so slightly, you have to be fairly observant to let it bother you). You don't notice it on black backgrounds. It's similar to the last one but much less noticeable. It's unlikely that it's something affecting all PSP whites, maybe I will indeed just have to get yet another replacement already •.
My PSP-1000 has perhaps 10 stuck/dead pixels. Back in the day there was a homebrew pixel fixer program which i ran to no effect whatsoever. I must be just unlucky or something.
Tried it just now on a new CFW and it doesn't start anymore, so it seems useless. Anyway, the 10 dead pixels are all over the screen and they annoyed me a lot at the beginning, I even called Sony and they told me to bring it in, but in the end I didn't and now I see them sometimes, but usually they don't bother me. I hope your replacement comes in fine! If you plan on sending it back do it quickly if you bought it from play. They have a ridiculously short waranty period (28 days iirc). I will never ever buy hardware from them again. With regards to stuck pixels I've found that the apps that flash different colours don't do anything at all.
However I've had success on 3 LCD's gently rubbing around the area with a lint free cloth can unstick the pixel. I've never tried it on a PSP though. The platic over the screen seems harder than on most LCD's so I'm not sure if it would work.
