Bobcad V23 Tutorial Pdf

I've been playing with the demo of BobCAD for a few days, on and off. Some things I like but some things I really despise. I've looked on YouTube and can't find a good tutorial for what I need.

C Language Programming Tutorial Pdf

CAD CAM software documentation for BobCAD-CAM products. Download the latest manuals and get the information you need about BobCAD-CAM software. Downloadable Step-By-Step Tutorials. 2 Axis Engraving: http://www.bobcad.com/wp.

I want to watch someone start a new BobCAD file. Blank screen. Set it up for lathe, and just simply draw a 2d profile of a part for turning. Not get a 2d profile from a 3d solid model like they do on YouTube. Also I do not want stupid ass pre-packaged shapes used either. I want someone to just draw a part in 2d for a turning operation using lines, chamfers and radii.

The way you would with AutoCAD. The videos I find on YouTube either draw in 2d, but for a mill, or they create a 2d profile for a lathe, that they extract from a 3d model, or they just use pre-packaged primitives. I want real CAD drawing.

Not pseudo CAD. Can someone just please point me in the direction of something like this? I have take the BobCad training class and been using the software for about a year now, for work on a VMC. As said mill, I don't have the lathe portion of the software, but more often than not I don't need a 3d model to get the job done; I'm a machinist not an ME. I can tell you that the class is well worth the money, it will save you countless hours of dinking around. The class is taught by a machinist, not an employee of BobCad & not a software person who has never once set foot in a shop. One of keys to success is to use the software as much as possible, practice is essential like most things.

One of problems with BobCad (which I have mentioned in previous threads) is that 99% of their educational material is written by software people not machinists. I used all the training materials provided by B.cad before taking the class. What I found out from class was what I had been doing was fine but there much more efficient methods to get from a blank page to code. Also despite the bum rep BobCad has here it is very powerful piece of software, some fairly large companies are using it for 4 and 5 axis work. PM me you want and maybe I can provide some help, at the very least the class teacher so you get to a seminar. I'm sorry, but I can't justify paying for a class to learn software, that I do t even own yet.

If my boss had purchased it and said ok now go learn it. Load Medieval Conquest. Then I would think about it. But if I really need to take a class, to learn how to do something extremely basic. That does not bode well for said software package. I mean c'mon. Part of software is making things intuitive.

To help the user. If I can find a FREE tutorial like the one I described above. And if it shows me an easy way to do what I need to do with BobCAD. I will suggest to my boss to purchase it. If I say nay to this package, then my boss will not purchase it. So it's sort of up to me. Since I'm the primary programmer here.

I'm hoping someone will drop in and post the link I need. Otherwise I'm going to suggest we take a look at Onecnc. Divx Player Latest Version For S60v5.

Or maybe surfcam. Or one of the myriad of other programs out there. Here is a manual that has lessons on Lathe. From BoB's web site referring to the getting started manuals I heard One CNC is excellent for lathe.Mo money though. That said,,BoB just did a big overhaul in lathe this version.Seriously on Monday schedule a FREE Live Demo.Hey. I clicked on your link. And I found the lathe tutorial PDF file.

Or at least I think it was a PDF. Dr Peepers 12 Month Physical Fitness Program. Anyway I read through it completely.

It was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately after going through it, I can see that I was drawing pretty much the correct way.

Almost exactly like in the tutorial. So basically it confirmed for me that drawing in 2d for a turning profile with BobCAD truly sucks. It's main focus is milling. And turning is sort of an after thought. Unfortunate for me.

I think I'm going to delete BobCAD and look into OneCNC. Thanks for your help.
